It is more sporty version of Audi A8, that started its production in 1996 and currently is in its fourth (D4) generation. All S8’s is equipped with permanent all-wheel drive (quattro) system and available only in short wheelbase (regular A8 buyers could choose between short and long wheelbase version of the car). First generation S8 equipped with 4,2l V8 engine producing 250 or 265kw, depending on model years. Second generation S8 was available with 5,2 V10 engine that produced 330kw. Third generation S8 is equipped with 4,0 V8 biturbo that produced 382kw and can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in about 4,2 seconds.
