Iran Khodro Samand (Samand is a fast horse breed) is a 4-door sedan that is being known as a national car of Iran.  Vehicle is created with parts that are being produced by local manufacturers. Company started a project to built vehicle in 1996, but the first model was released in 2000, since then it is available in local and foreign markets.  Few engines are available in this vehicle from a range of 1.6 L – 1.8 L that generates power from 100 hp to 113 hp (most powerful 1.7 L engine).  5-speed manual transmission was installed in this vehicle. There also were different versions of Samand created: Samand LX, Samand SE, Samand Sarir, Samand Soren, Samand Soren ELX.
